The streaming platform has implemented price rises for its British subscribers, with the most affordable option seeing the steepest increase.

Existing customers will be informed of the changes via email one month in advance, while those registering for new accounts will face the updated charges immediately.

The advertisement-supported standard tier now carries a price of £7.99 monthly, representing a rise of approximately one-third from its former rate of £5.99.

The commercial-free standard package has climbed to £13.99 per month, up from £12.99.

The premium subscription, which permits streaming across additional devices and the addition of further household members, now costs £20.99, having previously been priced at £18.99.

The fee for incorporating an additional member has risen to £5.99 from £4.99.

These adjustments mark the second occasion on which Netflix has increased its British pricing this calendar year, following a comprehensive review of all subscription tiers in February.

A company representative indicated that the modifications reflected enhancements to the entertainment selection and service standards.

The organisation stated that consumers now faced unprecedented options in the entertainment sector and that it remained dedicated to providing an experience that met audience expectations.

The updated pricing impacts viewers of programming such as Adolescence, Stranger Things and Bridgerton.

Films currently available include KPop Demon Hunters and Happy Gilmore 2.

Forthcoming releases encompass The Gentlemen 2, Black Doves 2 and Pride And Prejudice.

The platform has also revealed forthcoming original productions, including The Unheard featuring Kate Winslet and Jonny Boy starring Barry Keoghan.

The company reported revenues of 45.2 billion American dollars, equivalent to 33.4 billion pounds, during 2025, representing a year-on-year growth of 17 per cent.

Operating earnings reached 13.3 billion dollars, or approximately 9.8 billion pounds.

According to Max Beckett, a broadband and television specialist at price comparison platform Uswitch, consumers who subscribe directly retain flexibility regarding their commitments.

Should subscribers determine that the revised pricing fails to justify continued membership, they retain the option to reduce their subscription tier or terminate their arrangement without incurring penalties.

Switching from the standard commercial-free option to the supported version currently yields annual savings of 72 pounds.

Alternative no-cost streaming services include ITVX, Channel 4 and Tubi.

Subscribers were advised to evaluate their combined expenditure on streaming platforms and broadband provision to determine whether alternative package deals might reduce overall costs.
