Leeds is set to host a dedicated employment and training event designed to connect job seekers with a wide range of opportunities across various sectors.
The inaugural Unity Careers Fair, arranged by Unity Homes and Enterprise, will be held on Tuesday, September 22, between noon and 5.30pm at the Ramgarhia Sports Centre on Chapeltown Road.
Admission to the event is complimentary, with attendees able to access job vacancies, training schemes, voluntary positions and professional careers guidance from multiple employers and recruitment agencies.
Sean Kelly, regeneration manager at Unity Homes and Enterprise, explained that the occasion represents an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for employment, considering a career shift, seeking an apprenticeship, pursuing training or returning to the workforce after a break.
He noted that the organisation had attracted reputable employers and training providers, with substantial vacancies available across different fields.
Among the organisations confirmed as exhibitors are Leeds United FC, transport operator Arriva, facilities management company Equans and security specialists First Response Group.
Training establishments including Bradford College and youth support charity Catch 22 will also be present.
Cedric Boston, chief executive of Unity Homes and Enterprise, described the inaugural Unity Careers Fair as a significant milestone for the organisation, which operates as a Black and Minority Ethnic housing association dedicated to collaborating with local communities to enhance residents’ life outcomes.
