Emergency services attended a property in Bradford city centre on Sunday afternoon following a report requesting a welfare check at an address on Thornton Road.
West Yorkshire Police officers entered the premises at approximately 1.30pm and discovered a woman inside.
She was declared deceased at the location.
The death is currently being classified as unexplained while investigations continue.

Griffiths occupied the property at the time of the offences and received a life sentence.
Police response A representative from West Yorkshire Police commented that officers attended the address in Holmfield Court after receiving a request for a welfare check.
Upon entering, they located the woman inside the property.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A forensic perimeter remained established while officers pursued lines of inquiry into the circumstances of her death.
Ambulance service response Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed that ambulance personnel were dispatched to an incident at a private residence in the vicinity.
Scene management Forensic officers, detectives and patrol officers attended the Thornton Road address throughout Sunday.
Local residents reported a large presence of emergency services in the surrounding area.
A police cordon was erected as investigations proceeded.
Officers maintained their presence at the location the following morning.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death remain active.
