A former world number one golfer officially inaugurated a new golf facility at a West Yorkshire independent school last month.
Colin Montgomerie, holder of an OBE, visited Woodhouse Grove School on Thursday, September 17 to formally open the Grove Golf Academy.
The eight-time European Tour Order of Merit winner conducted a coaching session and answered questions from students during his appearance.
Headmaster James Lockwood expressed his enthusiasm for the establishment of the facility, noting that pupils had received inspiration from the visit of a sporting figure they greatly admired.
The programme has been designed to support young golfers across a range of abilities, from those seeking recreational participation to individuals with ambitions of competing at the highest domestic and international levels.
The academy represents the sole golf programme based directly within a school setting in the surrounding area.
The curriculum combines instruction from a qualified golf professional with access to advanced monitoring technology and a collaboration with Bradford Golf Club.
Students will follow a structured development pathway tailored to different proficiency levels.
