Leeds Bradford Airport experienced operational difficulties on Saturday morning due to a technical fault with its air traffic control provider, although normal service was subsequently restored.
The Yeadon-based facility announced at approximately 10am on September 21 that NATS, the national air traffic control service, was dealing with a technical issue that was affecting aircraft movements at multiple UK airports, including Leeds Bradford.
According to the airport’s departure information, morning services to Perpignan and Palma each experienced delays of approximately two hours as a consequence of the disruption.
Airport representatives confirmed that collaboration with airline partners was underway to facilitate passenger movement once the situation normalised.
By 10:50am, the airport confirmed that the technical difficulties had been resolved and standard operations had resumed.
Residual delays were anticipated throughout the afternoon as a result of the earlier disruption.
Travellers were advised to contact their respective carriers directly for current flight information.
