Emergency services discovered human remains at a recycling facility in East Yorkshire on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers from Humberside Police were dispatched to the Pocklington Household Waste Recycling Centre located on Pocklington Lane in Burnby following the discovery at approximately 3:15pm on September 23.
Authorities indicated that efforts to determine the complete details surrounding the find remain active.
The death has not yet been classified, with officials stating it is being treated as unexplained pending further investigation.
Next of kin have been notified although official identification procedures have not been completed, according to a police representative.
The facility operated by East Riding of Yorkshire Council has been temporarily shuttered.
Residents requiring waste disposal services have been directed to alternative locations in Market Weighton and Driffield.
