The volume of unresolved cases at Bradford Crown Court has grown despite contrary patterns observed at certain venues elsewhere in the country.
Figures released by the Ministry of Justice revealed that the number of pending matters at the West Yorkshire jurisdiction climbed from 1,624 in March to 1,659 by June, representing a rise of 2.2 percent.
The neighbouring Leeds Crown Court followed a different trajectory during the identical timeframe.
Its caseload declined by 1.2 percent, with the total falling from 2,142 to 2,117 outstanding matters.
Nationally, the picture proved mixed.
An analysis conducted by the Press Association across all crown courts in England and Wales demonstrated that 29 of the 68 venues successfully decreased their backlogs between March and June.
Gloucester Crown Court and Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court led the improvements, with each recording reductions exceeding 10 percent.
A further 11 jurisdictions, encompassing Cambridge Crown Court and Carlisle Crown Court among others, achieved more modest declines of between five and 10 percent.
The remaining courts bucked the trend.
Thirty-eight venues experienced growth in their inventory of open cases, while one court recorded an entirely static workload across the four-month period.
