THE body of a woman hit by a lorry on a major Bradford road was found almost three miles away, police have confirmed.
The force received a report just after 5pm yesterday of a collision involving a female pedestrian and a HGV on Harrogate Road, near Killinghall Road.
A short while later, police received reports that the body of woman had been found on Neville Road in East Bowling.
Sadly, the 77-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Man arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving
Police enquiries revealed that they believe the woman was “carried” by the vehicle to Neville Road.
A 55-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving.
He has since been bailed.

In a statement, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision in Bradford.
“Officers were called at around 5.20pm yesterday (Wednesday, April 15) to reports that a pedestrian was in collision with an HGV on Harrogate Road towards Killinghall Road.
“A short while later officers received a call that the body of a woman has been found on Neville Road.
“Sadly, the 77-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing by the Major Collision Enquiry Team.
“From our enquiries we believe that the woman involved in the collision was carried by the vehicle to Neville Road.
“Police then received reports about a body being found at that location.
“A man aged 55 was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.”
‘Extremely upsetting incident’
Detective Inspector Paul Conroy from MCET said: “This is an extremely upsetting incident involving an elderly pedestrian in Bradford. Our thoughts go out to the family who are being supported by specially trained officers.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the Harrogate Road/Killinghall Road area who may have dash cam footage of the HGV or the pedestrian at the traffic lights to come forward.
“We understand there were several vehicles in the area at the time of the collision who may have witnessed it, we are keen to speak to the driver of a red Ford Max, a grey Skoda SUV, a silver Toyota and a white SUV.
“We are also keen to speak to anyone who saw the HGV after the road traffic collision driving towards Neville Road.”
