Energy customers across Bradford face the possibility of paying more than necessary on their bills.

Around 5.9 million homes currently on default tariffs and lacking smart meters have been advised to provide their meter readings before the month concludes to guarantee correct charges at the reduced prices coming into effect.

Research conducted by Uswitch.com demonstrates the financial danger of neglecting to update meter data.

The regulatory ceiling on energy costs will fall to £1,641 from April 1, meaning properties with average consumption could see their April energy expenditure reduced to approximately £97, compared to £166 the previous month.
