A fifty-year-old woman without a permanent home has been imprisoned after being found guilty of multiple thefts aimed at commercial premises across the city.

Louise Hillas attended legal proceedings on the fourteenth of April and was handed a twenty-four week jail term following numerous shoplifting incidents that negatively affected local retailers.

Police officials indicated the sentence resulted from continuing efforts by officers to tackle persistent illegal activity and support shop workers and business owners who endured losses from repeated stealing.

West Yorkshire Police disclosed that officers devoted considerable time working alongside retail businesses to assemble evidence and deal with recurring offences, which had created disruption and financial harm.

Officials recognised shop staff and local people who submitted reports and offered information, noting their contribution proved essential in securing the conviction.

Retail crime continues to create difficulties for many small commercial ventures, with police encouraging anyone affected by shoplifting to report it regardless of the monetary value involved.
