Free festival set to revitalise Bradford city centre this weekend

A culinary and cultural celebration is poised to animate Bradford city centre this weekend.

The Taste BD event marks its third edition, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, May 2 and 3.

City Park will undergo its annual transformation, with the much-anticipated Mirror Pool fountains resuming operation to enhance the setting.

Speaking ahead of the occasion, event manager Eddie Kean expressed enthusiasm about the gathering, noting that residents would converge on the urban core to honour local gastronomy, heritage, and neighbourhood spirit. He added that with water features activated, performances staged throughout the grounds, and an impressive roster of vendors and pastimes prepared, the programme promised to deliver an outstanding couple of days for the district.

Over thirty independent traders, temporary drinking establishments, and craft market stalls will populate City Park and Centenary Square between noon and 6pm.

Revelry in Centenary Square will persist until 8pm.

Patrons can anticipate musical offerings, ambulatory entertainers, and an array of participatory encounters, including instructional cooking sessions.

Complementary fitness classes will also be available.

Programmes designed for families encompass cake decoration, facial artistry, and participatory culinary sessions.

All offerings carry no admission fee, though several demand prior registration because of space constraints.

Age-appropriate diversions will unfold across the two days, establishing the occasion as a genuine neighbourhood celebration.
