A police cordon remained in place throughout the afternoon following a collision between a scooter and a car in Bradford.
The incident occurred on Harrogate Road shortly before noon.
The scooter rider, a man aged 30, sustained head injuries.
Harrogate Road was closed to traffic between the Leeds Road and Norman Avenue junctions while emergency services attended.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service received the emergency call at 11.39am.
According to a service spokesperson, two ambulances, a team leader and a doctor were sent to the location.
One patient was transported to Leeds General Infirmary.
West Yorkshire Police received notification from the ambulance service at 11.48am regarding reports of a car and scooter colliding on Harrogate Road.
A force representative stated that the scooter rider, a 30-year-old man, suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital.
Officers at the scene indicated that the direction of travel for the vehicles involved had not yet been established.
