A participant on the popular television programme has departed after a single season.
Calum, aged 31, became part of the Channel 4 reality series in September of the previous year, appearing alongside Jake, who is 27 years old.
They entered a lineup that already featured established pairs including Giles and Mary, Sue and Steve, Sophie and Pete, along with Dave and Shirley.
The separation occurred following Calum’s relocation to another country.
In conversation with The Sun, the 31-year-old explained that he and his partner had moved to Australia, which necessitated his departure from the programme.
He described his time on the show as wonderful, praising everyone involved both in front of and behind the cameras, and referred to the entire Gogglebox cast as family, expressing that leaving was a difficult decision.
Jake’s childhood companion Lois will step into the role.
Calum clarified that their friendship with Jake remains strong, and they had invited their friend to accompany him on the show.
Calum expressed confidence in the new pairing, saying viewers would be well taken care of, while also mentioning he would be watching from his Australian home.
Lois is set to make his first appearance on the programme during the September 11 episode.
He described Gogglebox as a comfort programme and explained that joining his close friend on the sofa felt like a natural opportunity.
Series 28 of the programme commenced on Channel 4 during early September.
Friday’s broadcast at 9pm will introduce the refreshed partnership of Jake and Lois to audiences.
