Officers discovered a quad bike being operated on Knowles Lane in the Holme Wood area with a toddler aged just 18 months positioned at the front of the vehicle.
The bike was found to be lacking valid insurance cover, a current MOT certificate and vehicle excise duty documentation.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed that the matter was dealt with through appropriate channels.
The quad bike was taken into custody by officers.
The operator faced court proceedings in connection with the traffic violations identified during the stop.
The child involved was considered to have been placed at significant risk by the circumstances of the incident.
Authorities subsequently made safeguarding referrals to ensure the welfare of the young passenger was reviewed through the relevant specialist services.
The force emphasised that the rider’s primary worry during the encounter centred on the prospect of penalty points being added to any licence held, rather than acknowledging the potential harm to the child in their care.
