A restored version of a classic horror film will make its way back to cinema screens in ultra-high definition.
Pictureville Cinema in Bradford has been selected to host the Northern UK premiere of Hammer Films’ 1958 production of Dracula on October 15.
The event forms part of a specially curated Halloween programme developed in collaboration with Hammer Films.
The Dracula presentation signals the beginning of an extensive October schedule dedicated to horror cinema.
Audiences can expect a collection of Hammer studio classics alongside cult favourites throughout the month.
Representatives from the National Science and Media Museum confirmed the partnership.
According to museum officials, Pictureville Cinema is working alongside Hammer Films to deliver a Halloween programme showcasing iconic horror titles, combining the studio’s productions with items from the museum’s own substantial horror archive.
Patrons attending the Dracula screening will additionally receive after-hours entry to the Sound and Vision galleries.
These exhibits contain Christopher Lee’s original fangs worn during the film.
Guests purchasing VIP tickets will further receive access to a private tour of the museum’s Ashton and Leakey collection, which remains unavailable to general visitors.
The broader Halloween schedule incorporates Monster Mash: Four Monsters That Changed Horror, a curated film series organised by writer and critic Christina Brennan.
The selection comprises Frankenstein from 1931, The Thing released in 1982, and Re-Animator from 1985.
