A discount scheme targeting fuel costs has been launched by the supermarket group Asda, providing customers with savings at hundreds of filling stations nationwide.
The retailer is granting motorists a reduction of 5p per litre across its network of 262 petrol stations, which encompasses Asda Express locations.
The incentive becomes available to shoppers who make purchases totaling £40 or more within the store.
The promotion covers transactions conducted from September 23 through October 14 and has the potential to deliver savings of up to £3 for a standard 60-litre tank of fuel.
The discount is applied automatically to the Asda Rewards application as a 5p-per-litre fuel voucher.
It may be redeemed for one fuel transaction and remains usable until October 31 at participating Asda petrol stations.
The initiative has been introduced against a backdrop of financial strain affecting households across the country.
Data from Asda’s most recent Income Tracker indicates that the growth of household spending power decelerated to 3.4 percent during the previous month, representing the most modest expansion recorded since March.
The Income Tracker is a monthly measurement tool that calculates the sum of disposable income available to families after accounting for taxation and essential expenditure obligations.
With fuel costs continuing to operate at elevated levels alongside growing household expenditure commitments, the reduction is anticipated to offer meaningful assistance to vehicle owners.
The company has previously implemented comparable fuel discount initiatives in direct response to escalating cost pressures.
