An annual event showcasing Islamic heritage and culture is set to take place once again in Bradford.
The Abū’l-Qāsim Festival of Culture will be held on Sunday, September 6, at the Mustafa Mount venue situated on Emm Lane.
The gathering offers free entry and will operate between 12pm and 8pm.
Taking place at Mustafa Mount, which previously housed the University of Bradford School of Management, the festival aims to honour Islamic traditions, community bonds and family values.
The event is being arranged by Souq Uthman, the regular monthly market held at the Mustafa Mount location.
The inaugural edition launched in 2025, coinciding with what numerous Muslim communities recognised as the 1,500th anniversary of the prophet Muhammad’s birth.
A representative from Souq Uthman stated that the festival provides families and local communities with a chance to unite through celebration and education.
The representative explained that the objective is to allow visitors to discover the richness of Islamic heritage via practical activities, creative pursuits, culinary offerings, narrative sessions and collective experiences.
The representative added that whether attendees arrive to participate in workshops, browse the marketplace or simply spend quality time with loved ones, there will be experiences suitable for all ages and interests.
Activities available throughout the day include archery, duff drumming, storytelling sessions and interactive workshops focused on Islamic arts and customs.
Additional attractions feature pony rides, outdoor recreational games, arts and crafts stations, sensory play areas, face painting services, henna application and an inflatable bouncy castle.
The marketplace will highlight independent enterprises, skilled craftspeople and charitable community groups from the local area.
