Two individuals have been taken into custody following an incident in which a man in his twenties sustained injuries to both arms consistent with those caused by firearms.
Emergency services were dispatched to the Leeds location on the evening of September 1, with officers arriving at the scene at 10.11pm.
The injured party was transported to a medical facility where treatment was administered for arm wounds that were not considered to pose a risk to life.
A dedicated investigation area has since been set up along Cambrian Street in the Holbeck district of the city.
Both suspects, who are 26 years old, have been detained on suspicion of wounding with intent and remain in police custody pending further proceedings.
Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Bates from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team stated that the deployment of a weapon in any neighbourhood naturally generates concern among residents, and visible policing operations in the vicinity would be increased as a result.
The senior officer indicated that efforts were underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the occurrence and to identify all parties connected to the matter.
Investigations continue and members of the public possessing relevant information have been asked to come forward and share details with law enforcement officers.
