The inaugural headliner for the 2027 Live at The Piece Hall series is set to be announced shortly after the Halifax venue sold an unprecedented 225,000 tickets during the summer season.
Representatives from The Piece Hall Trust alongside event partner Cuffe and Taylor disclosed that arrangements for the following year are already in progress, with the opening major act scheduled for announcement potentially within the coming seven days.
The chief executive of The Piece Hall Charitable Trust, Nicky Chance-Thompson, said that achieving 42 productions marked a significant milestone.
The performances showcased leading international musicians, drawing new audiences to the area and stimulating economic activity locally.
The current year consolidated the venue’s standing as an internationally recognised entertainment destination, with credit attributed to events and production staff, security personnel, cleaning teams, permanent employees and volunteers.
The roster included appearances by McFly, Tom Jones, Hollywood Vampires, Garbage and The Beach Boys among others.
Audiences travelled from 68 different nations, with 81 percent of admission passes purchased by individuals residing beyond Halifax and 45 percent representing first-time visitors to the venue.
A co-founder of Cuffe and Taylor, Peter Taylor, noted that from the initial capacity audience of the year featuring Shed Seven on June 6th, indications suggested 2026 would prove notable.
The season concluded with 42 performances accommodating 225,000 concert attendees at the historic venue.
Since relaunching in 2017, the venue has received more than 20 million guests and is estimated to have generated £680 million in economic value between 2015 and 2025.
Current forecasts indicate annual contributions to the regional economy of approximately £90 million.
The venue has collected several accolades, most recently being named Inspirational Venue of The Year at the 2025 Northern Music Awards.
