A performer is channeling personal experiences with autism and ADHD into stand-up comedy while championing greater awareness of neurodiversity.
Koah Jude Fulton, aged 32 and originally from Pudsey, has transformed her neurodivergent experiences into comedic content.
The 32-year-old has secured a place in the Care Sector’s Got Talent Grand Final, scheduled for Wednesday, October 7.
Fulton discussed her approach to neurodivergence, noting that certain aspects remain challenging and occasionally overwhelming.
She described a prolonged process of self-discovery regarding her cognitive patterns and emotional triggers.
Making light of difficult circumstances has long served as her primary coping mechanism.
By reframing her lived experiences through a newly recognised autistic perspective, she creates material that assists both herself and audiences in comprehending these experiences.
Fulton has resided at an Eden Futures property for more than four years.
She has acknowledged that the assistance provided at the supported living facility played a significant role in restoring her self-assurance and psychological wellbeing.
Following her late diagnosis as autistic and ADHD, Fulton experienced considerable difficulties with mental health stability, emotional regulation, and confidence prior to moving into her independent flat.
She has attributed her improved ability to manage these challenges to the staff support, therapeutic intervention, and her own personal awareness and determination.
