Several prominent literary figures are set to appear at this year’s Farsley Literature Festival in West Yorkshire.
The programme will feature food critic Jay Rayner, novelist John Boyne, and Joanne Harris, the author of Chocolat, as headlining guests.
The event is scheduled to run from October 12 through November 23.
This marks the festival’s fifth edition, with more than 25 events spanning six weeks.
Attendees can expect author talks, panel discussions, and interactive sessions throughout the schedule.
Organisers confirmed that a diverse range of writers and storytellers will participate in this year’s programme.
The event aims to attract visitors with varied interests through its comprehensive lineup.
Audiences typically travel from across West Yorkshire and beyond to engage in literary conversations, discover new authors ranging from established names to debut writers, and celebrate the joy of reading and books.
The festival schedule includes a dedicated Crime Day showcasing author panels, a workshop focused on writing for wellness purposes, a Book Lover’s Quiz event, and a special Children’s Day programme arranged during the October half-term break.
Additional offerings encompass a live demonstration of flower arranging, an evening event with David Lascelles, Earl of Harewood, and a theatrical performance of John Steinbeck’s classic novel Of Mice and Men.
