An educational establishment in Bradford has dismissed pupils ahead of its normal schedule following a sudden loss of electricity.
Bradford Forster Academy, situated on Fenby Avenue, confirmed it would be sending students home at 11.20am.
Approximately 900 students between the ages of 11 and 16 have been impacted by the early closure.
The premature shutdown resulted from an unexpected power failure affecting the local area.
The disruption has deprived the school of both water supply and food preparation capabilities.
Staff communicated to parents and guardians that pupils would be permitted to use their mobile devices to reach family members before departing the premises.
The academy issued a communication confirming that Northern PowerGrid had been made aware of the situation.
With catering operations impossible and water services unavailable, the decision was taken to close at the earlier time.
Students who possessed their own mobile phones would be given access to them to make contact with home before leaving the site.
