A support centre serving people affected by dementia in Bradford has received more than £6,000 in funding.
Bradford Dementia Hub secured the donation from three Tesco locations throughout the city, which generated the amount through tombolas, raffles and public collection efforts.
The outlets participating were the Bradford Great Horton Road Extra store, the Bradford Peel Centre and the Bradford Queensbury Superstores branch.
Lauren Dowie, who serves as dementia services manager at the hub, expressed appreciation for the supermarket chain and its customers, noting that the £6,000 sum would benefit those living with dementia and their carers throughout the area.
The financial contribution will enable the hub to assist local community groups in obtaining equipment and materials for activities designed to be engaging, social and purposeful.
These initiatives aim to assist individuals with dementia in remaining active and maintaining social connections, while simultaneously tackling loneliness and enhancing quality of life.
Kamran Asif, who works as checkout team manager at the Bradford Great Horton Road Extra location, stated that the store felt privileged to assist the hub and its vital work supporting individuals with dementia and their relatives.
The team expressed pride in playing a role in raising awareness and contributing to such an important cause locally.
The Bradford Dementia Hub offers guidance and assistance to individuals who have received a dementia diagnosis and to their relatives.
