The health and beauty retail chain Bodycare has marked what it describes as a pivotal moment in its efforts to re-establish a strong high street presence with the opening of a new destination in Bradford.

The company unveiled its fourth Studio Store format in the city on September 19, introducing a hybrid concept that brings together its established value-focused product range alongside contemporary features and experiences specifically developed to appeal to younger consumers.

Bradford represents a significant stepping stone in Bodycare’s commercial resurgence, according to the retailer.

The chief marketing officer, Tash Courtenay-Smith, explained that the city holds particular importance within the company’s strategic plans.

She noted that the Bradford location marks another concrete advancement in Bodycare’s return to the high street and its objective of establishing a refreshed model of accessible health and beauty retail.

The retailer indicated that the new branch has been designed to merge its reputation for affordable products with an immersive retail environment prioritising exploration and community engagement.

Bodycare identified Bradford’s demographic profile as a key factor in selecting the location, citing the city’s youthful and varied population as well-suited to a concept centred on beauty, creativity, and emerging trends.

Research conducted by the company indicated existing brand recognition among local shoppers, creating what Bodycare described as a clear opportunity to reintroduce the label in an entirely transformed format.

The launch has generated approximately 30 employment opportunities, with additional work arising for contractors and suppliers engaged during the construction phase and for ongoing operational requirements.

The project also facilitated the return of several previous members of staff, resulting in a workforce that combines experienced personnel with newly hired recruits.

The Bradford outlet diverges substantially from conventional Bodycare outlets, placing emphasis on experiences and active customer participation as part of the company’s wider initiative to reinvent its high street positioning.

The facility incorporates a complimentary creator studio accessible to content producers, emerging influencers, and community organisations for filming and content production purposes.

Additional offerings include a professional piercing studio, an extended cosmetics department, Korean beauty ranges, and an expanded fragrance selection.

Initial customer response since the launch has been described by Bodycare as overwhelmingly favourable, with shoppers expressing enthusiasm about the brand’s return to Bradford and considerable interest in the novel features available at the outlet.

Broadcaster Anita Rani, who maintains strong connections to the city, attended the store prior to its official opening.

Bodycare characterised her involvement as an appropriate tribute to Bradford’s cultural identity and creative spirit.

The retailer expressed that the visit represented more than simply having a recognised figure present at the unveiling, serving instead as a celebration of the city itself and ensuring the launch felt like an occasion for local residents.
