A significant drugs operation in West Yorkshire has resulted in three men facing charges following the discovery of a substantial quantity of ketamine at a residence in the area.
Approximately 500 kilograms of the Class B substance, estimated to be worth £10 million at street level, were confiscated during the raid at premises on Rose Avenue in Upton, close to Pontefract.
The enforcement action was conducted by officers attached to the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit, leading to the detention of three individuals during the evening of September 23.
The discovery comprised 20 black binbags containing the controlled substance.
Among those facing prosecution are two local residents from Upton.
Curtis Binns, aged 32 and residing at Sunny Avenue, has been indicted on counts of possessing a Class B drug with intent to supply alongside money laundering offences.
Paul Turner, 40 years old and from Common Lane, faces a single charge of possessing a Class B drug with intent to supply.
Christopher Wills, 42, originally from Wolverhampton, has been charged with supplying a Class B drug.
All three accused individuals remain in custody pending their appearance at Leeds Magistrates’ Court.
A West Yorkshire Police representative confirmed that the seizure represents what is believed to be the nation’s second-largest single recovery of ketamine.
