A specialist defence engineering company based in Shipley has announced significant business expansion after securing new contract work totalling £1.5 million.
Slipstream Design, which was established in 2011, has experienced rapid expansion during the 2025-26 financial year, with turnover figures almost doubling compared to the previous period.
The company has completed projects for two newly acquired clients as part of its latest contract portfolio.
The firm’s growth has been attributed to multiple factors, including its participation in NATO’s Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic initiative, known as DIANA.
The company has also pointed to its long-standing commitment to consistent customer delivery and ongoing investment in workforce development as contributing elements to its recent success.
Sarah Gregory, serving as commercial director at Slipstream Design, outlined that the company’s achievements resulted from a combination of sustained performance and strategic positioning.
She noted that the progress realised this year reflected years of dedication to client service alongside staff development, complemented by opportunities arising from involvement in the NATO accelerator programme.
The business currently maintains a workforce of 27 employees and focuses on expertise in digital systems and radio frequency technologies.
According to Ms Gregory, the company’s ASTRO® product range has undergone substantial development over a two-year timeframe.
She explained that the range now includes a high-performance software-defined radio frequency module capable of modification by the end user to suit varying conditions in contested and congested electromagnetic environments.
