A seasonal celebration returns to Leeds city centre this winter, featuring both a traditional German-inspired market and a covered ice skating facility.
The event will span multiple central locations, with advance admission now available for the ice rink component.
Fabler and Co, the operator behind similar winter venues, will manage the market in City Square.
The offering will include products from 60 traders and food sellers sourced from throughout Yorkshire, complemented by additional bar facilities, approximately 200 decorated conifers, and an interactive children’s trail.
The company’s signature heated tented structures will also be reinstated at one venue.
Entertainment will comprise regular musical presentations by individual performers, brass ensembles, and vocal groups.
A collection of purpose-built retail units will house rotating independent craftspeople.
The ice skating venue will occupy a 400-square-metre purpose-built surface on one of the designated squares, enclosed beneath a translucent canopy.
Standard public sessions will operate daily, with weekend provision specifically for children under nine years of age.
Additional attractions will include street food vendors, Alpine-style trading units, a themed alcoholic refreshment establishment, and various winter-themed amusement activities suitable for all ages.
These will encompass a large observation wheel at one location, a traditional amusement ride at another, and a 30-metre-tall aerial attraction at the third site.
Councillor Salma Arif, Leeds City Council’s lead member for economic development, stated that the annual festivities transform the urban environment and draw considerable visitor numbers, with this iteration developed alongside a new operational partner to highlight regional enterprise.
The market portion runs from mid-November through late December, while the full ice rink and attractions operation continues through the end of that month.
