A Bradford-based restaurant has accumulated more than £30,000 through a monthly charitable initiative spanning over two years.

Arome, a steak establishment situated on Leeds Road in the city, has organised fundraising gatherings on the final Sunday of each month since the start of 2024 in collaboration with the Nazim Ali Foundation.

The collaboration supports humanitarian efforts both domestically and internationally.

During the 31-month period, the programme generated a total of £30,449 for the foundation’s causes.

According to the organisation’s founder, the restaurant proprietor and employees have contributed their entire earnings from each event without receiving payment.

The foundation representative noted that the team’s commitment exemplified how businesses could distribute their achievements with disadvantaged communities.

Appreciation was also extended to supporters who consistently participated in the monthly occasions.

The restaurant’s proprietor and workforce have directed all proceeds from charity days toward the foundation’s operations.

The financial contributions have enabled the construction of residential properties in Afghanistan, Burundi, and Azad Kashmir.

Additional projects have included the installation of water pumping equipment in Sindh, Pakistan, the distribution of live goats to households in Malawi, and the provision of food supplies to displaced populations in Lebanon, Malawi, Jordan, Egypt, Pakistan, Yemen, and Burundi.

The owner expressed satisfaction with the partnership, highlighting the recipient’s three decades of humanitarian activity as providing reassurance regarding the appropriate allocation of funds.

The proprietor also acknowledged staff members who voluntarily waived their wages during each giving day over the 31-month period.

A commitment was made to maintain support for the foundation’s future activities, with the individual noting that community-oriented businesses bear a responsibility to contribute to broader societal welfare.

Expansion plans are underway, with a second location scheduled to open at 92 Legrams Lane, Unit 4 The Willowfield next to Mother Hubbard’s, BD7 2AD.

The inauguration is set for Monday, 21 September 2026.
