New American diner Monty’s opens at Leeds Bradford Airport

Published on

Leeds Bradford Airport has welcomed its latest dining establishment with the opening of Monty’s Diner in the departures area.

The American-inspired restaurant represents one component of the airport’s current renovation programme, delivering casual dining options for passengers ahead of their journeys.

SSP UK & Ireland manages the venue, alongside its existing Tap and Brew Craft Beer Bar and Kitchen operation at the terminal.

Airport chief executive Vincent Hodder expressed enthusiasm about the arrival of the new facility, noting the organisation’s commitment to enhancing passenger services and amenities.

The addition was described as particularly valuable for families, with the venue anticipated to become popular among younger travellers.

Hodder outlined continued collaboration with retail partner SSP to introduce fresh concepts as passenger numbers through Leeds Bradford continue to increase.

Morning service runs until 11am, offering items such as waffles, French toast bites, chicken and waffles, full cooked options and traditional American bagels.

Throughout the day, patrons can select from smash burgers, wings, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese and barbecue selections.

Young diners have access to breakfast choices including waffles, beans on toast and scrambled eggs on toast, while the all-day children’s selection features burgers, chicken tenders and macaroni and cheese.

The beverage offering spans soft drinks, thick shakes, cocktails and alcoholic hardshakes for adult passengers.

SSP’s chief property and business development officer Stuart Buchanan noted that contemporary travellers arrive at terminals earlier and receive gate announcements later, creating demand for distinctive, value-driven experiences that enrich their airport time before boarding.

The establishment was described as an immersive concept designed to elevate the overall airport experience.

The opening coincides with wider development work at the airport, which recently expanded the terminal to provide substantially increased seating capacity and additional retail and dining venues.

A new central security zone is scheduled for completion next month.

The diner operates daily throughout all flight operations.
