A documentary offering insight into Palestinian narratives will receive its West Yorkshire premiere this month.
The feature-length work will screen at the Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds on the evening of Tuesday, September 22, beginning at 6pm.
The production centres on six performers from various regions of Palestine as they collaborate on creating and presenting a comedy programme that examines questions of identity using comedic elements.
The project was created by Palestinian director Alaa Aliabdallah and produced by Charlotte Knowles.
The documentary combines documentary filmmaking techniques with footage of live comedy performances.
The film has already secured screening slots at several prominent international festivals, including SXSW London, Sheffield DocFest, Raindance, and IDFA.
It received recognition at these events, notably winning the Raindance Spirit Award.
This screening precedes the launch of the 12th annual Leeds Palestinian Film Festival, scheduled to commence on November 13.
Festival organizers indicated that the programme will include a comprehensive selection of Palestinian cinema, opportunities for audiences to engage with filmmakers, and live discussions.
Additional information about the festival lineup is expected to be released shortly.
