A 15.5-mile sponsored trek has generated over £1,700 in donations for a charity supporting disadvantaged youngsters in Yorkshire.
Staff members from Don Whitley Scientific completed the walking challenge on September 12, beginning their journey at the company’s Bingley offices and concluding the route at Granary Wharf in Leeds.
The fundraising effort coincided with the 15th anniversary of The Principle Trust Children’s Charity, an organisation that offers complimentary respite holidays to children throughout Yorkshire who are dealing with significant difficulties.
Tom Walton, Service and Business Continuity Director at the company, described the canal-path challenge as an excellent opportunity for colleagues to unite behind a worthy cause.
He expressed gratitude to The Principle Trust for its assistance throughout the campaign and stated that the team took considerable pride in the amount raised, expressing hope that the contributions would positively impact children and families within the regional community.
The total sum of £1,760 collected is sufficient to provide week-long respite breaks for three children alongside their respective families.
Kerry Magson, who serves as Head of Partnerships, Service Delivery, and Engagement at the charitable organisation, conveyed the charity’s appreciation to the Don Whitley Scientific workforce for undertaking the Locks to Leeds challenge and selecting the trust as the beneficiary of their fundraising activities.
