A landmark initiative will see Yorkshire send its inaugural combined trade delegation to India this autumn.
Three regional mayors have united for the mission, scheduled for October, with the goal of attracting employment opportunities, boosting exports, and securing fresh capital for the area.
Tracy Brabin, who leads West Yorkshire as its mayor, highlighted the longstanding connections between the two regions.
These bonds span commercial enterprises, higher education institutions, local communities, and the sport of cricket.
Brabin noted that previous international engagement had produced measurable outcomes for the region.
A thousand positions were created in Leeds following discussions held in Bangalore, while seven million pounds in foreign investment arrived after a visit to Mumbai.
Regional companies have also established commercial relationships with firms operating in the rapidly expanding Indian market.
The White Rose delegation will champion Yorkshire’s business community, universities, and creative industries throughout the mission.
The programme commences in India’s capital before proceeding to Hyderabad and concluding in Mumbai.
