St Francis Village Hall has received official designation as the Parish Centre of Worship for the area.
The authorisation was granted by the Rt Revd Dr Toby Howarth, who serves as Bishop Suffragan of Bradford, on 21 August 2026.
The facility, situated within what was previously the parish of Saint Peter Allerton, will now serve the newly established Parish of Thornton and Allerton.
The designation was formally enacted under Section 24 of the Mission and Pastoral Measure 2011.
This development will be reflected in the local community’s religious activities and gatherings, as the hall assumes its expanded ecclesiastical responsibilities.
