A sports complex in Bradford has announced ambitious plans to broaden its range of activities after establishing itself as a regional destination for recreational fitness.
Bene Leisure Centre, situated on Little Horton Lane, welcomed its first visitors in November 2025 and has since expanded into a multifaceted sporting venue.
The facility now accommodates padel courts, cricket training lanes, and golf simulators alongside several independent enterprises.
The centre’s operations manager, Mazn Ahamed, indicated that the original concept was designed to encompass a broader sporting vision.
The objective has been to create what he described as a comprehensive village of recreational activities, offering diverse options spanning multiple disciplines.
Golf provision includes two simulator units alongside coaching programmes.
Ahamed noted that recognition of the venue has developed substantially during its first ten months of operation, though considerable potential remains for reaching additional residents across West Yorkshire.
Between 200 and 250 individuals typically frequent the complex during busy weekend periods, with attendance figures rising as additional amenities become available.
Padel has emerged as the facility’s standout attraction.
Ahamed highlighted that the sport’s simplicity of entry combined with its technical complexity has proven particularly appealing.
The activity demands less physical exertion than conventional racket sports, making it especially suitable for older participants.
Its benefits extend to mobility improvement, motor skill development, and cognitive stimulation.
Community engagement forms a central component of the centre’s mission.
While commercial viability remains essential, Ahamed emphasised that increasing physical activity among local residents constitutes the primary objective.
The venue maintains partnerships with educational institutions and community organisations, providing substantially reduced or complimentary sessions for younger people.
Special provisions extend to local authority employees and emergency service personnel.
Era Pilates represents one of the most recent additions to the complex.
The studio’s co-founder, Emma Hyndman, reported that uptake among Bradford’s residents has surpassed initial projections.
Following successful launches in Wakefield and Shipley, the Bradford location has addressed what Hyndman described as a previously unfilled demand among local women seeking such facilities.
Alpha Gym is preparing to commence operations at the site.
Founder Osama Malik disclosed that the enterprise originated from a modest establishment within Bradford before growing substantially beyond initial expectations.
His initial motivation centred on community benefit and providing positive alternatives for young people.
The business has subsequently expanded to incorporate awards and industry recognition.
Beyond conventional gym equipment, the facility has already arranged padel sessions, badminton competitions, and running clubs.
As the centre approaches its inaugural anniversary in November, Ahamed outlined preliminary considerations for marking the occasion.
Potential initiatives include interactive social media activities or site-wide treasure hunt events.
Additional development remains under consideration, with available space permitting further facility expansion.
Specific proposals remain in the planning stages.
