A 38-year-old suspect has been taken into custody following a vehicle-based burglary at a Bradford jewellery store.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed the man has been bailed while investigations continue.

The incident occurred when a Nissan Navarra was intentionally driven into the front of Pakistan Jewellers on Duckworth Lane.

Officers responded to the scene at 1.19pm on Saturday, September 5, after receiving emergency calls.

Detectives stated that several individuals subsequently entered the premises and attempted to remove jewellery items.

A female customer, aged 47, sustained minor injuries during the attack and received medical attention.

No further details regarding her condition have been disclosed by authorities.

Bradford CID detectives are leading the investigation and are requesting public assistance.

Anyone present at the location during the ram raid, or possessing relevant information, should contact police using the 101 telephone number or the online live chat facility.

Officers have asked that callers quote reference 13260506012.

A visit to the Duckworth Lane address the following morning revealed the storefront remained covered with protective boarding.

Scattered wooden debris lay outside the premises, and police cordons were still in place along the road.

The damaged front window had been temporarily covered.

The arrested man faces suspicion of aggravated burglary.

Further enquiries are expected to continue as officers examine evidence from the scene.
