Emergency services attended Killinghall Road in Bradford on Thursday evening after reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.
The incident occurred at approximately 8.56pm on September 3.
Paramedics from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service attended the scene following the collision.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
West Yorkshire Police subsequently confirmed that two women have been taken into custody on suspicion of dangerous driving.
The detainees, aged 19 and 47, remain in police custody while investigations continue.
A cordon was put in place along Killinghall Road following the collision.
Emergency service vehicles were positioned in the area during the initial response.
By the following morning, the road had reopened to traffic, though some police tape could still be seen near the scene.
The Major Collision Enquiry Team is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Officers have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision or possesses dashcam footage of the event to come forward.
