Acoustic performances will be staged at Keighley Market throughout September, with free entertainment available to shoppers on Saturday lunchtimes.
Bradford-based musician Jake Keating has been confirmed as the opening act on September 5.
The performer has previously appeared at Darley Street Market in Bradford and participated in the Busk:BD initiative.
Two acoustic sets are scheduled for 1pm and 3pm.
Expressing enthusiasm about the engagement, Keating noted that market environments serve as valuable community venues where live music creates a distinctive ambience in busy town centres.
The artist indicated intentions to present a selection of soulful acoustic material designed to enhance the experience for those shopping, dining, or socialising with companions.
The Homburg has been announced as the second act, scheduled to perform on September 19.
The ensemble incorporates elements of indie folk, country blues, and gypsy ska into its repertoire.
An additional performer remains to be announced ahead of an October 3 appearance.
Councillor Ian Walker, who serves as Bradford Council’s executive member for neighbourhoods and communities, welcomed the programme.
Following a pilot initiative earlier in the year, the authority confirmed its pleasure at extending the series into autumn.
The councillor observed that live performances contribute to an energetic environment, assist local performers, and provide visitors with further motivation to utilise the market facilities.
He emphasised that markets occupy central positions within communities, fostering social connections and supporting independent traders, with the entertainment intended to attract greater numbers of visitors and highlight the diverse range of offerings available.
All performances are freely accessible and suitable for general attendance.
Guests may listen while browsing the market’s commercial pitches, catering outlets, and independent enterprises.
Further announcements regarding the October performer and supplementary programming are expected from Bradford Markets in the coming weeks.
