A significant diplomatic gathering is scheduled to take place in Bradford this autumn, hosting Uganda’s head of government.
Robinah Nabbanja has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for the first-ever Uganda–UK Business and Community Partnerships for Humanity Dialogue Meeting.
The conference is set to take place at the Midland Hotel on September 9.
Doors will open at 10am with proceedings concluding at 5pm.
The Uganda High Commission has coordinated the programme alongside the Uganda Europe United Kingdom Association and the Uganda Red Cross Society.
Under the banner Strengthening Partnerships for Shared Value and Community Impact, the day-long forum will gather officials from public sector, commercial enterprises, medical services, educational institutions and community groups representing Uganda’s overseas population.
According to Manoj Joshi, president of the UEUKA, the collaboration holds potential for generating economic growth while simultaneously supporting local communities and humanitarian efforts.
Among those expected to attend are Nimisha Madhvani, Uganda’s appointed representative to Britain, alongside Bradford’s ceremonial mayor Chris Herd and Bradford Council’s executive head Stephen Place.
The September gathering represents a continuation of bilateral exchanges following a commercial investment event hosted in Bradford during April 2025.
Officials anticipate the forum will further develop commercial and cultural connections between the two territories.
Aviation sector representation will come from Uganda Airlines, which intends to address delegates regarding the contribution of expanded flight routes to commerce, visitor economy and capital flows between the nations.
A charitable collection during the programme will raise funds directed toward the Uganda Red Cross Society’s relief operations.
