West Yorkshire Police have issued an appeal for public assistance following a notable increase in reports of nuisance and illegal motorbike activity across three towns within the Bradford district.
The Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team has recorded a surge in incidents involving motorbikes that are either being ridden illegally or causing disturbance to residents in Keighley, Silsden and Oxenhope.
Officers have indicated that enforcement action is being prioritised, with members of the public encouraged to provide information to assist their efforts.
According to the neighbourhood policing team, operational activity has resulted in the seizure of multiple bikes over the past year.
Despite these successes, recent intelligence suggests a fresh wave of problematic motorbike activity has emerged in the affected communities, with incidents reported across all three towns.
Three off-road bikes were recently recovered and their riders were subsequently reported for various offences.
Authorities have emphasised that public cooperation plays a vital role in tackling the issue.
Reports from community members enable officers to concentrate resources in areas where activity has been observed, facilitating the deployment of specialist capabilities to remove unsafe and illegal bikes from local roads and public spaces.
Anyone with information regarding nuisance or illegal motorbike activity in these areas is requested to contact the police non-emergency number or utilise the force’s online reporting facility to submit details.
