A significant fire involving discarded waste broke out within a structure in Halifax on Wednesday evening.
Emergency services responded to the incident on Lucy Street after receiving reports of flames at a commercial premises shortly after 22:00.
Four fire units from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene, where a substantial quantity of landfill-type refuse had ignited inside a steel-framed building.
Crews deployed multiple high-pressure water jets along with ground-based monitoring equipment and a protective water screen to bring the conflagration under control.
A representative from the emergency service confirmed that crews arrived at 22:09 and that the operation required significant resources due to the volume of combustible material stored within the structure.
The fire was successfully extinguished with no reports of casualties at this stage.
