A motorist has been reported to court and had their vehicle confiscated after police officers intercepted a car on a road in Bradford and established that it was being operated without valid insurance coverage.
The case involved a Toyota that was pulled over on Thornton Road by members of the Bradford West neighbourhood policing unit.
Officers reported that the driver attempted to evade capture by executing multiple turns along the route.
Despite these efforts, officers maintained visual contact with the vehicle until it was eventually brought to a stop on Thornton Road.
Following inquiries, checks confirmed that the Toyota was not covered by insurance.
Operating a motor vehicle without insurance constitutes an offence under British law, with potential consequences including confiscation of the vehicle, penalty points on the driver’s licence, and a financial penalty.
The Toyota was subsequently taken into police possession.
The driver has been referred to the court system in connection with the matter.
West Yorkshire Police indicated that the case formed part of broader activities aimed at enhancing road safety throughout the area and addressing the problem of uninsured driving.
The force confirmed that it conducts regular proactive patrols designed to locate drivers operating vehicles illegally and to minimise hazards for other road users.
