A fresh community singing group is set to launch in Otley, offering residents the chance to come together through music.
Local Vocals, which operates inclusive choir sessions, is extending its reach to the town with regular weekly gatherings.
The sessions will be held each Wednesday morning from 10am until 11.30am at Clifton Village Hall.
Participation is open to all individuals aged 16 and above, with no entry requirements in terms of prior vocal training or musical literacy.
According to a representative for Local Vocals, enthusiasm for music and singing serves as the sole prerequisite for involvement.
The group emphasises that individuals who believed choirs were reserved for those with flawless vocal abilities have discovered an alternative through this organisation, which provides a welcoming and enjoyable social environment where participants need not possess exceptional voices to derive satisfaction from the experience.
The group was established in 2021 by Laura Bennett-Gornall, a graduate of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
Local Vocals currently operates 44 additional choirs throughout northern England.
Through its performances and events, the organisation has contributed more than ÂŁ80,000 to charitable causes.
Participants engage in singing uplifting compositions arranged in four-part harmony and may choose to get involved in public performances.
The choir provides opportunities for socialising, enhancing personal wellbeing, and supporting local community initiatives.
