Three people injured in Bradford road collision

Three people needed hospital treatment after a road traffic collision on a main route in Bradford.

One stretch of Canal Road saw limited access following the smash during the afternoon period.

The incident occurred at a multi-lane junction on the southbound side of Canal Road, with traffic queued between Gaisby Lane and Stanley Road while emergency services worked at the site.

Ambulance personnel deployed three additional response vehicles along with a manager to manage the situation.

All three casualties were moved to Bradford Royal Infirmary for care.

Two-vehicle smash

The collision involved two cars striking each other head-on.

Images circulating on social media displayed a white convertible with major damage to its front area, alongside a dark-coloured vehicle that had lost most of its bumper.

Emergency services present

Police officers and ambulance workers dressed in high-visibility attire were spotted at the location, positioned near the damaged cars.

Motorists were alerted to expect travel delays while the road stayed partly obstructed.

From the ambulance service

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said an emergency crew came across the collision on Canal Road in Bradford at 3.06pm on Wednesday afternoon. Three additional ambulances and a team leader were despatched to the location and three patients were taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary. The T&A approached West Yorkshire Police for comment.
