Sainsbury’s shoppers can earn hundreds of Nectar points this way

Published on

Shoppers visiting Sainsbury’s stores throughout West Yorkshire have stumbled upon an effortless trick that could net them generous Nectar rewards — with some saying the points showed up almost instantly.

The uncomplicated method, needing just a few button presses, has been gaining traction on social media platforms this week.

Savvy spenders have taken to it eagerly, according to creatorzine.com.

Many shoppers consider it one of the quickest approaches to boost loyalty programme benefits currently on offer, with points materialising practically straight away.

The tip surfaced on Reddit via a post to the r/UKFrugal community, where a seasoned member demonstrated how they secured 500 Nectar points without much trouble.

The entry, submitted by MovieMore4352, explained how they had just received 500 Nectar points simply by signing up with Marriott Bonvoy, noting it was straightforward and took mere seconds.

This deal stems from Nectar’s partnership with Marriott Bonvoy, which allows members to link their profiles, move points between schemes and unlock extra perks across both platforms.

Through this arrangement, shoppers can swap points for hotel stays, experiences and travel advantages while also picking up additional points for signing up or lodging at participating hotels.

Fresh Marriott Bonvoy registrants who join through Nectar can grab a 500-point incentive — worth around £2.50 — simply by linking their account, with further points on offer for hotel reservations.

A few shoppers initially thought they needed to arrange an actual stay to qualify but later realised that completing registration alone could activate the bonus.

Some were quick to try it out, with many confirming it worked without delay.

Others shared similar success stories, with users reporting they had just completed the process and seen points appear immediately.

A third person remarked that the whole thing was unexpectedly simple and thanked the original poster for sharing the tip.

Other users offered advice for those who did not receive the promotional email — noting the offer can also be found within the Nectar app itself.
