Police detained four teenagers following a stabbing incident in Leeds city centre.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene after a man in his thirties received a knife injury during an altercation on Briggate on Tuesday night.

Officers were alerted to the disturbance close to a McDonald’s restaurant in the central shopping area at 9.08pm.

Paramedics found the man with a penetrating wound to his stomach area.

He was taken to hospital where medics are treating him for wounds described as non-life-threatening.

Police subsequently arrested four young men aged between 13 and 16 years old at the scene on suspicion of assault.

All four remain in custody while enquiries continue.

A force spokesperson stated that on April 28th at 9.08pm, officers attended Briggate in Leeds after receiving reports of a physical altercation.

A man aged 34 was taken to hospital suffering from a stab wound to his midsection. His condition is being treated as non-critical.

Four juveniles aged between 13 and 16 were held at the scene on suspicion of assault. Each suspect remains in custody.

Detectives from Leeds CID are progressing with the inquiry.
