A charitable organisation based in Bradford has provided support to more than 16,000 people through its funding initiative.
GiveBradford collaborates with neighbourhood groups across the city to tackle deprivation and social imbalance.
Since 2017, the group has distributed over £7.6 million through 800 grants to projects centred on wellbeing, learning, and community cohesion.
Steph Taylor, chief executive of GiveBradford, explained that the residents of Bradford, combined with robust partnerships and shared objectives, contribute to the city’s strength.
She noted that when community-based groups receive monetary assistance, joint working throughout Bradford produces significant and lasting outcomes for local people.
The investment has assisted various parts of the local community, with 1,576 people indicating they felt less isolated, 3,404 individuals reporting improvements in their mental health and general wellness, and 2,151 residents developing better awareness of diverse cultures.
Nevertheless, the demand for help remains greater than the resources currently at hand.
Bradford sits as the 12th most deprived local authority in Britain out of 314 regions, according to the 2025 Index of Multiple Deprivation.
Taylor pointed out that the sustained large number of requests from community groups cannot be ignored.
She added that this is clear from the substantial interest in their funding schemes.
Taylor urged other organisations to join them in combating social disadvantage and backing this remarkable city and its inhabitants.
