ALL TRAIN SERVICES will be halted on Sunday along several routes as upgrade work continues on the railway line between Frizinghall and Shipley.

Connections serving Bradford Forster Square, Leeds, Ilkley, and Skipton through Shipley will not run on Sunday 26 April.

The line suspension is due to building work for a new railway depot in Shipley as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade programme.

Trains on the Skipton to Leeds corridor will also be scrapped for the day.

Buses will replace trains on the Skipton to Leeds section, as well as between Bradford Forster Square and Guiseley.

A limited train service will function between Skipton and Keighley only.

Other lines will experience changes, with additional stops at certain stations being added.

The Transpennine Route Upgrade published details stating that two new Under Track Crossings are being constructed to allow cables to pass beneath the railway track between Frizinghall station and Shipley station.

These works form part of a major, multi-billion pound railway scheme intended to improve travel connections for northern passengers journeying between Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds, and York.

TRU has outlined goals to revamp the Transpennine main line into a high-performing, dependable railway providing more frequent, reliable, faster, and environmentally friendlier services.

They highlighted that the size of the scheme means disruption will be deliberately scheduled to enable these improvements to be completed.
