Rail services have been interrupted following a road vehicle striking a bridge along the route connecting Bradford Interchange and Leeds Station.
Northern, the train operator, posted confirmation on the social media platform X at 9:58am this morning (April 24), indicating that certain tracks have become impassable.
The complete statement on X stated: “Due to a road vehicle colliding with a bridge between Bradford Interchange and Leeds some lines are blocked.
“Train services running through these stations may be cancelled.”
Which stations are impacted?
The following railway stations have all been affected: Leeds, Bramley, New Pudsey, Bradford Interchange, Low Moor, Halifax, Sowerby Bridge, Mytholmroyd, Hebden Bridge, Todmorden, Rochdale, Manchester Victoria, Newton-Le-Willows, Earlestown, Warrington Bank Quay, Chester, Helsby, Frodsham, Runcorn East
Services traveling through these stations may be cancelled, the operator has stated.
Rail disruption is anticipated to continue until approximately 11am today (April 24).
Additionally, there will be service cancellations on routes between Bradford Interchange and Leeds.
